The Charlotte Quilt in Carolyn Friedlander
After making this quilt, I had a nice little stack of jelly roll strip remnants sitting out just calling out to be used. I decided to make my most recent pattern, the Charlotte Quilt, since it can be made with jelly roll strips, fat quarters, or scraps.
I am a huge Carolyn Friedlander fan and have accumulated a decent collection of fat quarters and yardage. I started by cutting the scraps and jelly roll remnant pieces, then I dove into the FQers and yardage from my stash and started cutting a WOF strip from each of them.
This created a curated scrap quilt, one of my favorite types of projects. The background fabric was leftovers from a gray Widescreen print that I had used on another project.
The backing is yet another Widescreen print — this one in black. Her Widescreen fabrics are so versatile because leftovers pieces are so useful.
I would love to do another scrappy version of this pattern, this time just using blue and green scraps. Or maybe using black and white scraps. There are so many possibilities!
