Pattern of the Week - The Freya Quilt
One of my favorite parts of getting to write quite patterns and run this little business is that each week, I have the opportunity to make quilt mockups. Some of these will be Pattern of the Week posts like this one, sometimes they are for new patterns, and sometimes they are for fabric designers or manufacturers to create kits. I love that this gives me the opportunity work with my patterns on a regular basis, even if I'm not making actual quilts with them each time.

This week I spent some time with the Freya Quilt Pattern. This pattern has a really nice balance — the construction is straightforward, but the finished quilt has a lot of movement. It’s one of those patterns where the individual pieces are simple, but the layout does a lot of the work for you. The pattern can be made with a jelly roll, fat eighths, or fat quarters and it is a champ at gobbling up those scraps.

It’s also a great option if you enjoy playing with color and value. Higher contrast fabrics will make the design feel more graphic and defined, while softer palettes create a more subtle, blended look. It’s flexible in a way that makes it easy to adapt to whatever fabrics you’re excited about using.
