New Pattern - The Blythe Quilt!

New Pattern - The Blythe Quilt!

I have a new pattern for you today! This is the Blythe Quilt. At first glance, the design looks a little intricate, but the construction is actually very straightforward. The quilt is built from simple blocks made with half-square triangles and squares, arranged on point to create rows of winding shapes that almost look braided or woven across the quilt top.

Depending on your fabric choices, the Blythe Quilt can feel bold and graphic or soft and subtle (and I have both to share with you!). High contrast fabrics really emphasize the movement in the design, while scrappier or lower volume combinations give it a completely different look.

One of my favorite things about this pattern is that it works especially well with fat quarters. The repeating shapes give you a chance to show off a lot of different fabrics without the quilt feeling too busy. It’s a great project for pulling together prints that you love but haven’t quite known how to use yet.

This quilt really shines when you have contrast between your fabrics. The pattern uses three fabric groupings — feature fabrics, accent fabrics, and background fabrics — and changing any one of those can completely change the overall look of the quilt.
