A Rainbow, Watercolor Wovens Talia Quilt
When I first started planning a rainbow version of the Talia Quilt Pattern, my original idea was to pull a mix of prints from my stash and let the colors do all the work. But those plans changed the moment I saw Watercolor Wovens by Fableism.

These fabrics stopped me in my tracks. Fableism’s wovens have so much depth and texture and once I started laying out the colors, I knew they were the perfect match for this quilt design. The subtle variation in each fabric adds interest without overwhelming the layout, which is exactly what I love about the Talia Quilt.

The combination of the offset blocks, the soft woven texture, and the rainbow color palette just gives me goosebumps. The design gives each color room to shine while still creating lots of movement across the quilt top. It’s one of those projects where the fabrics and the pattern really elevate each other, and it was such a joy to sew from start to finish.

If you’d like to make your own rainbow version of this pattern, you’ll need just under a fat quarter of each color — a fat eighth won’t quite be enough. I recommend downloading the coloring sheet, planning your layout first, and then using that to determine exactly how many pieces to cut from each fabric.

The backing fabric is Fableism Everyday Chambray in Obsidian. I normally don't like to use solids for quilt backings, but I have used Everyday Chambray now several times and it is super soft and has enough color variation that it doesn't really seem like a solid. The background fabric is Pure Solids in White Linen and the binding is Designer Essential Solids in Manatee.

If you’re looking for a quilt pattern that shows off color, works beautifully with textured fabrics, and feels modern without being complicated, the Talia Quilt Pattern paired with Watercolor Wovens is such a great option. Watercolor Wovens is available for preorders and the Talia Quilt Pattern is available now in my shop!
