The Zelda Quilt pattern using Backyard by Sarah Watts for Ruby Star Society

The Zelda Quilt in Backyard

I don't know how many different quilts I have made with Sarah Watts' collections at this point, but it's a lot! Off the top of my head I can think of one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, and here is quilt number ten. Plus I have a gorgeous FQ bundle of Reading Nook sitting on my shelf just waiting for the perfect project. So I guess you could say I'm kind of a fan.

Sarah's fabrics have so much personality and I love how distinctive they are. Whenever I see new fabrics released, I can always tell which ones are hers. Backyard is playful and whimsical and bold and just really pretty. And I love the bunnies.

The Zelda Quilt pattern can be made with fat quarters or fat eighths and for this quilt, I used fat quarters. If there are different options for the pattern, I try to show you as many as I can with the samples so you can see how they would look.

I got a little daring with my thread choice for the binding — it's bright blue! I have had the color in my stash for a while and this is the first time I used it.

The backing fabric is 108" wide Speckled in black. For the quilting, I did my normal organic grid (my fave!).
