The Remy Quilt in Rifle Paper Co. Dahlia

The Remy Quilt in Rifle Paper Co. Dahlia

You all know I have a soft spot for Rifle Paper Co. fabrics. At this point I’ve probably made a dozen quilts with their collections (see a few examples here, here, here, and here), and I love every single one of them. So when the Dahlia collection arrived, I knew right away it would be perfect for the Remy Quilt Pattern.

Because Dahlia includes several lighter and low-volume prints, I wanted a background fabric with a little more pesence. I ended up using Kona Pewter, one of my favorite warm gray solids, and paired it with Pure Solids in Linen for the accent fabric. They’re from different brands, but the colors play together beautifully and give the quilt a cozy, cohesive look.

One of the things I love most about Dahlia is the purple that runs through the collection. I leaned into that by using one of the darker Aubergine prints for the binding and one of the lighter purples, Elodie, for the backing. The combination adds a subtle color story that feels polished without being too matchy.

For the quilting, I did a serpentine stitch using my Janome 6700. I find myself using this stitch more and more often and maybe eventually I will just use it for every project. It's so good!

If you would like to make a quilt just like this, you can find Dahlia in shops now and you can pick up the Remy Quilt Pattern in my shop.
