The Penny Quilt - Five and Ten Version

The Penny Quilt - Five and Ten Version

A few weeks ago, the nice people at Windham Fabrics were nice enough to send me a bundle of Denyse Schmidt's new Five and Ten collection that will be out this summer. I have been drooling over this collection ever since Denyse started showing it off on Instagram and knew I wanted to make a version of the Penny Quilt Pattern with it.

This collection is all of the things Denyse does best - it's vintage but also modern and it's bold but also muted. There are florals, plaids, and strips. So much goodness.

It was a perfect fit for Penny - actually, I think this pattern would work exceptionally well with any of her collections and I am wishing I had enough of her older Chicopee collection to make another version.

One thing that always interests me about a new pattern is how it will look in different fabrics - it's so interesting how fabric choice can make a pattern look completely different!

I am super excited for this collection to be release and will definitely be picking up some yardage - the plaids in particular would be perfect for a backing fabric.
