The Natalie Quilt in Salutations

The Natalie Quilt in Salutations

I’ve been a fan of Rashida Coleman-Hale’s fabric collections for years, and her Salutations collection for Ruby Star Society is one I couldn’t pass up. It has purple and it has some Washi prints (I am a huge fan of her original Washi collection) plus it's super cute. I knew that it would be perfect for the cover of the Natalie Quilt Pattern.

Why Salutations Works So Well with the Natalie Quilt Pattern

The Natalie Quilt Pattern has a clean, simple structure that really lets fabric shine — especially collections with a wide variety of prints and colors. Natalie’s strip piecing helps keep everything balanced while still letting the bolder designs stand out.

With Salutations, I loved how the softer background tones and playful icons worked together across the quilt. It’s colorful but not overwhelming, and the repeating shapes in the pattern helped pull everything together in a cohesive way.

Fabric Details

For this quilt, I used:

A jelly roll of Salutations by Rashida Coleman-Hale for the feature fabrics

Hello Goodbye in Natural (from the collection) for the background fabric

Speckled in Berry for the Binding

108" Wide Speckled in White Gold for the backing

You can also cut this quilt from fat quarters, fat eighths, your stash, or scraps, but using a jelly roll really speeds up the process!

A Quick and Fun Strip Pieced Quilt Pattern

One of my favorite things about the Natalie Quilt is how quickly it comes together. If you’re looking for a quick quilt pattern using precuts or a project to help you use up scraps, this one is perfect. The strip piecing method keeps everything moving along quickly and makes it easier to focus on your fabric combinations.
