Pattern of the Week - The Julia Quilt
This week's Pattern of the Week is the Julia Quilt!
One of my favorite things about making mockups of older patterns is that they remind me how much I want to sew with those patterns again! This is (I think?) my only pattern with a square lap size option. It was originally only available in twin and queen sizes, but I added the lap size later because I thought it looked so cute as a square quilt.

I added a Pattern Guide for the Julia Quilt this week. Make sure you check those out if you are looking for more info about any of my patterns. I am working on creating one for every pattern.
The Julia Quilt is a fat eighth/fat quarter friendly pattern that uses straightforward construction to create fun, interlocking blocks. The blocks are set on point (don't be afraid!), which gives the quilt a lot of movement, and the background fabric helps each block stand out.

I especially love how different this quilt can look depending on your fabric choices. You can use a limited color palette for a softer, more cohesive look, or mix lots of colors and prints to make the design really pop. It's also a great pattern for showing off a favorite fabric collection.
Normally I try to give a lot of background color variety in the mockups, but I stuck with white (or close to it) for most of these without realizing it. Sorry about that! I will try to do better next time.
