Next Quiltalong?
We’re already heading into the last quarter of the year, and if I’m going to hit my goal of hosting four quiltalongs this year, it’s time to start planning the next one! Quiltalongs are one of my favorite ways to sew together as a community, and I want to make sure the next one fits into everyone’s schedule and feels fun — not overwhelming.

Here are the three options I’m considering for how we could move forward:
Option 1: Postpone Until February
The last quarter of the year is busy — for me and probably for many of you, too. Between school events, fall activities, and the holidays, sometimes it’s hard to keep up with sewing deadlines. If we push the next quiltalong to February, it would give us all a fresh start in the new year and a little more breathing room. Plus, that would give me time to add extra sizes and color options to one of my older quilt patterns (probably the Katie Quilt).
Option 2: Focus on Stashbusting
Instead of one single pattern, this quiltalong could be all about using the fabric you already have. We’d cover:
-
Tips for organizing your stash.
-
How to curate your own fabric bundle from scraps and leftovers.
-
Which quilt patterns are especially stash-friendly.
-
The difference between a scrappy quilt and a curated “pulled from stash” quilt.
This could be a fun way to reduce our fabric piles, make something completely unique, and use up those fabrics we’ve been saving for “someday.”

Option 3: Pick a Pattern Together
We could also go the traditional route: choose one quilt pattern and sew it as a group. I’d set up a poll so you can vote on which pattern we’ll use. If we take this option, we’d need to kick things off by early October so that we have time to make progress before the holidays get too busy.
Your Turn: What Do You Think?
I’d love your feedback! Do you want a stashbusting quiltalong? Would you prefer to dive into one specific pattern together? Or would you rather wait until February so we can all start fresh?
Drop a comment below and let me know what you’d like to do. Your input will help shape the direction of our next quiltalong — and I can’t wait to sew with you!

I’m okay waiting. Would love to do the pattern you have above option 3.

I vote for postponing until February. Now until the end of the year is just so busy-and embarrassingly I have not finished my Charlotte Quilt yet :( Stash busting sounds very fun, but I would wait until February. Thanks for asking!

YES to a quilt-along. Feb timeline is great for thoes long cold days of winter. Would love to know the pattern before December for planning. Personally would love to do the new mini pladish pattern, the ivy or the Penney quilt. I also have my eye on the Daphne and Erica quilts. I have fabrics lined up for all!
