The Stella Quilt Pattern by Kitchen Table Quilting using Lighthearted by Camille Roskelley for Thimble Blossoms and Moda Fabrics

Lighthearted - Quilt Ideas

Instead of doing one of my normal Quilt Ideas posts where I share mockups using a collection, I thought I would do something a little different. Instead of sharing a bunch of mockups, there are just three. They all use Lighthearted by Camille Roskelley, but there is a little twist.

For each mockup, I am sharing a version with a white background and one with a colorful background. They are side by side so you can compare them. I made a few tweaks between the versions just to make sure there was enough contrast between the background fabric and the feature fabrics, but they are pretty close to identical.

The Zelda Quilt Pattern

I have a really hard time branching out to colored backgrounds, so this was a fun exercise to how I like each version. Which do you prefer — the white background or the colorful background?

If you would like to make a quilt like any of these shown here, you can find Lighthearted in shops now and you can find the Iris, Penny, and Zelda quilt patterns in my shop.

I was amazed at the difference between the mock-ups! I really need to start thinking about colored backgrounds. What a difference they make !

I like them all, but prefer the colored backgrounds in the Zelda (one of my dogs!) and the Iris, but the white in the Penny quilt!

I love these patterns.
I always like white backgrounds but colored ones are always beautiful too.
