A Scrappy Daphne Quilt

A Scrappy Daphne Quilt

A while back I shared a little about this book which included a scrap quilt made with tan, low volume, pink, and peach fabrics. I really loved the idea of the quilt and wanted to do something similar for a sample of the Daphne Quilt Pattern.

Unlike the other 2 samples I made where the background fabric is more defined, I wanted to blend the feature fabrics and background fabrics a little more. This project ended up being a little more challenging than I anticipated because it turns out that I just don't have that many pink fabrics. If I had picked blue or orange, I probably would have had an easier time but I do love a challenge.

And I also love pink, even though it is the smallest part of my stash, so this was really a joy. I ended up picking a fabric called Wheelsy Daisy that was made by Sarah Watson for Cloud 9 fabrics a long, long time ago as my color inspiration. It's one of those prints that I love, but am never sure who I'm going to find a way to use it. . .  the print has pinks, a golden yellow, and some tan.

After getting all of these fabrics together, I think I used some of almost every single pink/peach print in my stash. It was a labor of love, but it was so much fun. I love a scrap quilt.

If I were going to make another scrap quilt using this pattern (hopefully someday soon!) I would definitely go for a rainbow scrap quilt — the lap size quilt has 7 diagonal strips so it is perfect for a rainbow.

The binding fabric is an old OG Cotton + Steel print and the backing is super cute Heather Ross strawberries. Pink is so much fun.

If you have some scraps just waiting to be used, you can pick up a PDF or paper copy of the Daphne Quilt Pattern in my shop.

I love this colorway so much. Sprinkling in the Wheelsy Daisy was such a good idea and palette starter. Can’t wait to see your rainbow version!
